Job Description

Our Client is looking for an experienced Group Benefits Sales Producer with an ambitious attitude, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an interest in growing the business. The Group Benefits Producer will be responsible for selling and retaining customized group benefits solutions to our clients with a target market.

What you will do:

  • Primarily accountable for developing new business and managing the relationship with the client and serving as their strategic advisor
  • Enhance the overall value proposition by offering clients our expertise while reviewing their needs and uncovering any unmet needs and identifying opportunities to sell them additional products.
  • Simplify complex concepts and guide clients through our process seamlessly
  • Develop client acquisition opportunities via the building of strong internal & external relationships; Network, prospect, and meet with potential clients to review their benefits needs
  • Develop plans for execution of large group client engagements
  • Assist in the preparation of quotes and market surveys, and ensure co-ordination of marketing to existing and prospective clients is on track and complete
  • Lead advisor closing opportunities at a reasonable success rate
  • Lead renewal negotiations and discussions with clients ensuring they have a sustainable offering fitting within their organizations budget, culture and strategy
  • Cross sell other services to current clients and maximizing the relationship
  • Attend networking meetings as needed

What you will need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • LLQP (Life License)
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in group benefits as well as life insurance
  • Passionate about (hungry for) and able to identify business development and sales opportunities; Proven ability to generate revenue, meeting and exceeding sales targets; Able to create and execute on business development plans
  • Exceptional client service skills, relationship building; Able to listen and establish trust; Integrity and respect
  • Knowledge of technical pricing capabilities and group insurance product and policy provisions
  • Exceptional communication both written and verbal
  • Polished professional with experience servicing high value clients
  • Dedicated to finding the best solution
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Positive and outgoing professional attitude; Initiative
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team environment; collaboration
  • Excellent time management and organization; Flexible, Resilient, Resourceful
  • Knowledge of employment legislation as it relates to employee benefits
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite including WORD, EXCEL, email, as well as internet and database software
  • CEBS is considered an asset
